Frequently Asked Questions
What people ask before they get in touch.
Do you take my insurance?
No. Dr. Nash is out of network, so Grace Therapy does not bill your plan, and that includes Medicare and Medicaid. Some plans reimburse part of the cost of out-of-network care. Your plan decides how much, if anything.
What is a superbill and how do I use it?
A superbill is a monthly itemized receipt you can send to your plan to ask for reimbursement. It lists a diagnosis code, which your plan will see. A plan may reimburse part of it, and we cannot promise that it will.
What is a Good Faith Estimate?
If you pay without insurance, you have the right to receive a written estimate of what care will cost before you start. It is an estimate, not a contract. How fees work explains your rights and links to the rules.
How much does therapy cost?
Your fee is given to you in writing before your first session. A limited number of reduced-fee places may be open, and health savings and flexible spending cards are accepted where your plan allows them for counseling.
What happens in the first session?
We spend about an hour getting to know each other. I explain privacy and its limits, you say what you want from therapy, and we decide together whether to meet again. There is no pressure to share more than feels right.
How often and how long are sessions?
Individual sessions are 50 minutes. Most people start weekly, then space sessions out as they decide. Your clinician sets the pace with you.
Are you licensed where I live?
Dr. Nash is licensed in Oregon. Video sessions are for clients who are in Oregon at the time of the session. If you live elsewhere, we are glad to help you look for a clinician licensed where you are.
What do I do in a crisis?
Call or text 988 at any time. In an emergency, call 911. This office does not monitor calls or messages around the clock.
What is confidential, and what are the limits?
Your records stay private except where the law requires otherwise: for example, when someone is in immediate danger, or when a child or an elder is being harmed. Nothing is shared with family or an employer without your written permission, unless the law requires it. I go through this in full in your first session.
Do you see teenagers?
No. This practice works with adults. If you are looking for a clinician for a teen, we can help you find one, and a parent or guardian takes part in a minor's care as the clinician's state rules require.
Do you write letters for gender-affirming care?
Yes, when I have worked with you long enough to speak to it honestly. A letter is not promised in advance, and I tell you what I can and cannot write before I start. The Services page sets out the policy in full.
What is your cancellation policy?
Please give 24 hours' notice to cancel or move a session. A later cancellation may be charged, up to the fee for the session. Emergencies happen, and I take that into account.
